IT Asset Disposal

IT asset disposal for businesses

Retiring laptops, desktops, servers, storage or networking kit? We buy what still has value, deal with the data on it, and handle the rest responsibly. Send us a list and we will quote for what we are able to buy.

What it covers

From one refresh cycle to a whole floor

We buy used IT equipment out of office moves, refresh cycles, server room decommissions, lease returns and site closures. They all produce the same problem: equipment nobody wants, some of it holding data, and no obvious route out.

Asset lists, however rough

An export from your asset register is ideal. A spreadsheet somebody started, or photographs of what is stacked in the comms room, is enough to get a figure. Nothing needs sorting or labelling first.

Secure data destruction

Data-bearing devices are identified before anything moves. Eligible storage is erased and a certificate is issued; anything that cannot be wiped is destroyed rather than passed on.

Server and comms room decommissioning

Racks, switches, storage arrays, UPS and the cabling behind them. Tell us what is rack-mounted and whether it will be de-racked before we arrive.

Office clearance and site closures

A floor handed back, a branch closed, a team consolidated. Usually a mixed clearance rather than a neat fleet, which is normal — we would rather see the whole picture.

A record of what left

What was collected is recorded at the point of collection, so the equipment leaving your building and the equipment on the quote are the same list.

Bulk and repeat volume

Refresh cycles that produce the same machine a hundred times over are the easiest thing we handle, and consistency is reflected in the offer.

We buy laptops, desktops, servers, storage, drives, networking, monitors, tablets and loose components — the full list is here. Selling a single machine rather than a fleet? Selling one laptop is the simpler route.

Questions

IT asset disposal, answered

If your procurement process needs something specific in writing, call 020 3411 1951 and tell us what it asks for.

What is IT asset disposal?

Getting retired IT equipment out of a business properly: working out what it is, removing the data on it, recovering whatever value is left, and dealing responsibly with what is genuinely finished. ITAD is the industry shorthand, and IT equipment disposal is the same job under a plainer name. What separates any of it from a skip is that the data is dealt with and the value comes back to you.

Do you buy the equipment, or charge to take it away?

We buy it. We quote for everything we are able to buy and the quote is itemised, with anything we cannot buy clearly marked as excluded rather than quietly left off. How the process runs.

What happens to the data?

Tell us which items hold data at enquiry stage and it is agreed before anything moves. Eligible storage can be wiped at your premises or at our facility, and a data erasure certificate is issued recording the work. Devices that cannot be wiped are destroyed instead. More on data wiping.

We are decommissioning a server room. Where do we start?

With a list and a date. We need to know what is rack-mounted, whether it will already be de-racked when we arrive, and how the equipment is physically reached — lifts, loading bays, permits and inductions change how a day runs more than the hardware does. More on business collections.

Is the equipment ours to sell?

Worth checking before anything is committed. Hardware on a lease, hire purchase or finance agreement may not be yours to sell, because a funder can retain an interest in it. Where a company is in administration or liquidation, the equipment can normally only be released by the appointed office-holder or their agent.

What happens to it after collection?

Every item is assessed individually. What has useful life left is refurbished and resold, what has not gives up its working components, and recycling is the last resort rather than the first. What happens to your equipment.

Send us the asset list

A spreadsheet, an export from your asset register, or photographs and rough quantities. We will quote for what we can buy and tell you plainly what we cannot.
